Senate OKs Sending BP Oil Spill Penalties To Gulf

Law360, New York (March 8, 2012, 10:17 PM EST) -- Senators on Thursday overwhelmingly supported handing Gulf states most of the Clean Water Act penalties that BP PLC could pay over the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, while a judge overseeing the Deepwater Horizon multidistrict litigation kicked off a transition to a court-supervised program for oil spill victims' claims.
