‘Hannah Montana’ Creators Lose Bonus-Fee Claims Appeal

Law360 (March 6, 2018, 9:43 PM EST) -- A California appellate panel on Monday rejected a bid by two creators of the Walt Disney Co. television show “Hannah Montana” to revive claims that the show’s production companies withheld bonus fees, finding an arbitrator did not unfairly omit evidence.

Applebarry Inc. and Fresh Air Taxi Cab Co. Inc., entities representing two of the show's creators, Barry O'Brien and Richard Correll, had appealed a lower court’s decision upholding an arbitration ruling siding with Disney’s interpretation of their profit-sharing deal.
