FCC Internet Plan To Face Opposition, Attys Say

Law360 (May 7, 2010, 4:48 PM EDT) -- In proposing to reclassify certain Internet services under Title II of the Communications Act, the Federal Communications Commission is making the best of its situation after having lost its case against Comcast Corp., but it still faces an uphill battle to enact its net neutrality agenda, attorneys say.

In a plan outlined Thursday by FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski, the agency would take the controversial step of reclassifying ISPs as entities covered by Title II, putting them in the same category as telephone service providers.
