Viacom's Bundling Violates Antitrust Law, Cablevision Says

Law360, New York (February 26, 2013, 3:17 PM EST) -- Cablevision Systems Corp. said Tuesday that it has slapped Viacom with an antitrust suit in New York federal court, accusing Viacom of unlawfully forcing Cablevision to carry networks customers don't want in order to be able to offer popular channels like MTV and Comedy Central.

Bethpage, N.Y.-based Cablevision issued a statement saying it had filed a sealed complaint claiming that Viacom had engaged in a illegal tying arrangement that ran afoul of federal antitrust law and asking the court to award treble damages and legal fees....
