Vitamin C Antitrust Settlement Row Belongs In NY, Judge Says

By Alex Lawson (March 25, 2014, 1:06 PM EDT) -- An Oregon federal judge said Monday that a quarrel over rights to a $10.5 million settlement reached in an ongoing class action alleging a price-fixing conspiracy among vitamin C shippers is better suited for the New York federal court currently overseeing that case.

U.S. District Judge Marco. A. Hernandez tossed a suit brought by Great Earth Chemical LLC against Diversity Suppliers LLC, both of which are vitamin C purchasers, finding that because the parties were already fighting it out over their settlement rights in New York, the case in his court should be halted for the sake of judicial economy....
