Twitter Hack Targets Biden, Apple, Slew Of High-Profile Users

By Hailey Konnath (July 15, 2020, 11:29 PM EDT) -- A major Twitter hack on Wednesday affected a myriad of high-profile users including Joe Biden, Apple, Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Uber and Kanye West, all of whom tweeted about a bitcoin scam before the posts were taken down by the social media giant.

Twitter Inc. acknowledged the breach midafternoon West Coast time, posting from its Twitter Support account that the company was aware of a security incident. Over the next few hours, Twitter Support said some users may be unable to tweet or reset passwords while it reviews and addresses the hack.
