Teamster Fund Loses 2nd Circ. Bid To Nix $3.5M Award
By Danielle Nichole Smith (August 9, 2018, 3:54 PM EDT) -- The Second Circuit stood by a decision to affirm a more than $3.5 million judgment against a Teamsters Local 210 fund in a decadelong dispute over a reduction in contributions, rejecting the fund's request that the court reconsider the ruling.
The Second Circuit issued its mandate on Wednesday for the three-judge panel's June opinion, which upheld a lower court's finding that the Teamsters fund owed Union Mutual Medical Fund, or UMMF, about $2.5 million in compensation and roughly $1.2 million in prejudgment interest in the contribution dispute.
