Tata To Pay $30M Over Workers' Tax Refund Theft Claims

Law360, Los Angeles (February 22, 2013, 10:30 PM EST) -- Tata America International Corp. will pay almost $30 million to settle a class action in California federal court accusing the Indian conglomerate of requiring nearly 13,000 U.S. employees to hand over their federal and state tax refund checks, according to a request for settlement approval filed Thursday.
