$5.3M Class Action Alleges Costco Denied Seats To Greeters

Law360, New York (August 8, 2013, 1:46 PM EDT) -- Costco Wholesale Corp. did not provide its employees working as greeters and exit checkers with seating, according to a putative class action removed to California federal court last week that the retail giant claimed could be worth $5.3 million.

Lead plaintiff Liliana Canela, who was hired by Costco within the past year, claims that Costco did not provide chairs to the employees greeting customers as they walk into the store and checking customers' purchases as they exit, even though there is ample room for the accommodations in all Costco locations.
