Friendly's Agrees To Pay $4.6M In Servers Wage Dispute

By Shayna Posses (October 13, 2016, 6:46 PM EDT) -- Friendly's servers asked a Pennsylvania federal judge Thursday for preliminary approval of a $4.6 million-plus deal resolving a proposed class and collective action accusing the restaurant chain and franchisees of various wage violations.

Plaintiffs Tisha Reed, Natasha Walker and Kaylee Metz said the deal entitles the approximately 10,300 class members to an average of about $332 each. They described settlement as a fair, reasonable and adequate recovery for Friendly's Ice Cream LLC servers allegedly subjected to a number of unlawful wage practices, such as being forced to work off-the-clock during unpaid meal breaks and after their shifts ended without compensation....
