Talbots’ $2.95M Wage Settlement Nears Approval

Law360, San Francisco (December 5, 2017, 10:16 PM EST) -- A California judge on Tuesday held off on preliminarily approving The Talbots Inc.’s $2.95 million settlement that would resolve a proposed wage and hour class action brought by store workers, asking the parties to revise the deal so the workers have more time to respond to the settlement notice.

Alameda County Superior Court Judge Brad Seligman said he generally has no problem with the proposed settlement under which class counsel would receive $1.03 million, or 35 percent of the settlement, in fees and costs. But he...
