New Bill Would Carve Sex Harassment From Arbitration Pacts

Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., and Lindsey Graham, R-S.C. — accompanied by former Fox News host Gretchen Carlson — introduced legislation Wednesday to prevent businesses from enforcing mandatory arbitration agreements in instances where employees allege workplace sexual harassment or gender bias.
Known as the Ending Forced Arbitration of Sexual Harassment Act, the bill would make it illegal for businesses to enforce arbitration agreements that workers must sign upon taking a job if the allegations involve either sexual harassment or gender discrimination under Title VII.
