Engineering Co. Can't Sink Water Workers' Defamation Suit

Law360, Houston (December 7, 2017, 3:47 PM EST) -- An engineering firm can’t duck a defamation lawsuit brought against it by employees of Beaumont, Texas, who say the firm’s report critical of the city’s water distribution and sewer collection services led to their ouster, a Texas appellate court held Thursday, rejecting the firm’s argument that failure to file a special certification mandated dismissal.
