NJ Asks DC Circuit To Undo PennEast Pipeline Approval

Law360 (May 21, 2018, 8:33 PM EDT) -- New Jersey launched a challenge in the D.C. Circuit on Monday to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's recent decision to greenlight construction of the controversial $1 billion PennEast gas pipeline.

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and the Delaware and Raritan Canal Commission filed a petition asking the D.C. Circuit to review FERC's January order issuing a construction certificate for PennEast Pipeline Co. LLC's planned 116-mile pipeline, which would ship gas from Pennsylvania's Marcellus Shale to New Jersey and gas markets throughout the Northeast....
