Vectren Slips Shareholder Suit Over $6B CenterPoint Merger

Law360 (September 6, 2019, 9:25 PM EDT) -- An Indiana federal judge said Friday that a group of Vectren Corp. shareholders failed to show that the energy holding company omitted crucial information from the proxy statement for its $6 billion merger with CenterPoint Energy.

U.S. District Judge Richard L. Young dismissed the shareholders' lawsuit, opening his order with a musing about the return of students to school this month and the likelihood that many of those studying math will "bemoan missing points on their test because they did not 'show their work' even if their answer was otherwise correct."
