Investor Settlements Saw Lull In '19 But Big Deals Are In Sight

Law360 (February 19, 2020, 10:33 PM EST) -- Only two investor deals finalized last year were big enough to crack the top 100 largest U.S. securities class action settlements, according to recently released data, but several big deals may join their ranks in 2020.

In a report put out Tuesday, ISS Securities Class Action Services ranked Cobalt International Energy investors’ $389.6 million resolution of claims and Alibaba Group Holding investors' $250 million settlement 43rd and 69th, respectively, among the highest-value securities class action settlements filed in U.S. courts since Congress reformed the law surrounding this type of litigation in 1995.

The two additions to the list come after 2018...
