Baker Hughes Says Docs Off Limits For German Arbitration

Law360 (March 26, 2020, 8:29 PM EDT) -- Oilfield services company Baker Hughes cited a recent Delaware federal court ruling that nixed a bid to seek documents for arbitration in Europe to argue Wednesday that a German energy storage company’s similar request for discovery from Baker Hughes should be denied.

Baker Hughes, a General Electric Co. LLC, told the Delaware court in a redacted brief that Storag Etzel GmbH’s request seeking discovery in a €142 million ($157.4 million) arbitration in Germany over defective safety valves should be tossed based on another Delaware judge’s decision this month denying discovery in a similar case.
