Tribal Water Ruling Hurts Landowners, Justices Told

Law360, New York (August 11, 2017, 7:51 PM EDT) -- A California-based legal foundation urged the U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday to accept a petition by two water agencies challenging a Ninth Circuit ruling that the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians’ federal water rights include groundwater, saying the decision could vaporize the groundwater rights of nonfederal water users.
