Deals Rumor Mill: Bayer, Novomatic, Stada

By Benjamin Horney (March 9, 2017, 3:59 PM EST) -- Bayer AG and Monsanto Co. are planning to sell about $2.5 billion worth of assets to help earn regulatory approval of their $66 billion megamerger, Reuters reported Thursday. According to the report, Bayer's advisers intend to send out information packages to potential suitors next week. It was unclear which assets the companies are looking to sell, though the report speculated it could include soybean, cotton and canola seed assets. Bayer had agreed to buy Monsanto in September, inking an agreement that sees the German drug and chemical maker paying $128 million per share to acquire the U.S. agrochemical company....
