GAO Again Rejects Protest Over $28M Navy Engineering Deal
By Daniel Wilson (July 5, 2016, 7:21 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Government Accountability Office in a decision released Friday rejected Trandes Corp.'s challenge to a $27.7 million U.S. Navy engineering services contract awarded to a Honeywell unit, finding that the Navy's cost realism analysis was reasonable.
Although Trandes had argued that the Navy used old pricing data instead of more recent information, wrongly eliminating a big cost advantage it held over rival Honeywell Technology Solutions Inc., the Navy's cost assessment had been reasonable based on all data available to it, according to the June 22 decision, publicly released in redacted form on Friday.
