Fed. Circ. Revives Exelis' $411M Air Force Base Contract
By Daniel Wilson (July 11, 2016, 4:09 PM EDT) -- The Federal Circuit in a decision made public Monday reinstated a $411 million U.S. Air Force contract awarded to Exelis Services A/S to operate a base in Greenland, ruling the company did not fall under a contractual restriction blocking non-Danish companies from bidding.
Denmark-registered and U.S.-owned Exelis falls outside a clause blocking subsidiaries of non-Danish companies from bidding on the maintenance and operation contract for the remote Thule Air Base, a three-judge panel said in a precedential decision, originally issued June 23 under seal.
