Boeing Hit With Sanctions Bid In $1.2B Contract Dispute
By Daniel Wilson (July 20, 2016, 8:20 PM EDT) -- Alabama Aircraft Industries Inc. asked an Alabama federal court Wednesday to sanction The Boeing Co., alleging it had deliberately destroyed information critical to the bankrupt company's suit accusing it of reneging on a deal to jointly bid on a nearly $1.2 billion U.S. Air Force contract.
There is "concrete, witness-verified" evidence that Boeing Support Systems Division CFO Steve Blake in 2006 deliberately directed other staff to delete certain emails related to Pemco — the forerunner company to AAI — even after written directions were issued by Boeing to collect and send such information to its law department for preservation, AAI claimed....
