CBD Co.'s Products Are Federally Illegal, Consumer Claims

Law360 (December 2, 2019, 5:03 PM EST) -- A CBD company has been hit with a new type of suit in California federal court by a consumer who says its food and topical cream products are unapproved new drugs sold in violation of federal law.

Adam DaSilva said in a proposed class action that Infinite Product Co.'s CBD products are misleadingly labeled and are illegal to sell. In his Nov. 27 complaint, DaSilva pointed to a recent warning letter sent by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to Infinite Product detailing numerous violations regarding its products, which include skin creams and gummies.
