The New York Times reported that after emails showing plans for two massive 50-story towers in the historic neighborhood were leaked to Crain's and Capital New York published an expose on the bidder review process, state officials have begun backpedaling and may be considering rescinding their offer to BHP. The winning bidder had promised a full-scale hospital, but at a price that detractors said was a far cry from reality. Now, the state may go with a proposal that does not offer a full-scale hospital, according to the Times....
