Nursing Home Workers Claim Fingerprint Scans Violate Law

Law360, New York (October 18, 2017, 8:44 PM EDT) -- A nursing home was hit with a putative class action in Illinois circuit court on Tuesday by employees who say that compulsory daily biometric scans violate their privacy rights under state law.

Martin Ragsdale filed the suit on behalf of what he says are hundreds and possibly thousands of Paramount of Oak Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center LLC employees harmed by the capture and storage of biometric data, which he says breaks the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act.
