Calif. Passes Provisions Curtailing Immigration Detention

Law360, New York (June 16, 2017, 5:31 PM EDT) -- The California State Legislature passed a budget Thursday including provisions to earmark $1 million to the state attorney general to monitor existing immigration detention facilities and to place limitations on the expansion of immigration detention in public jails — the first such legislation of its kind.
