Deals Rumor Mill: Citgo, Continental, GTCR

By Benjamin Horney (November 6, 2014, 7:06 PM EST) -- Citgo Petroleum Corp. has received a ton of interest in its Texas plant, Reuters reported Thursday. According to the report, however, Citgo's owner, Venezuelan state-run oil and gas company Petroleos de Venezuela SA may have no interest in selling. PDVSA had been searching for a Citgo suitor since early September, but last month said it had changed its mind and was not keen on selling. Still, with at least six oil companies informing Citgo that they're interested in its Texas assets, its possible PDVSA could reverse course yet again, the report said. Previous reports had indicated that a sale of Citgo, the entire company and not just its Texas assets, could fetch PDVSA as much as $10 billion....
