Geico Nets Sanctions From Firm, Body Shop In Antitrust Row

Law360, New York (July 19, 2016, 10:31 PM EDT) -- A Florida federal judge on Tuesday granted a sanctions request by Geico against an auto repair shop and its law firm, holding that they filed claims in an antitrust case that had already been resolved in a related suit against the insurance company.

Because Clinton Body Shop Inc. lost a summary judgment ruling on its unjust enrichment and tortious interference with business relations claims against Geico General Insurance Co. in the related suit, the company and its attorneys, John Arthur Eaves Attorneys at Law, were barred from reasserting them in the instant case, the insurance company had argued.
