Mexican Cos. Appeal $36M Award Confirmation To 10th Circ.

Law360 (April 26, 2019, 7:10 PM EDT) -- A Mexican cement company and its subsidiary have filed an appeal to the Tenth Circuit, challenging a Colorado federal judge’s recent confirmation of a $36.1 million arbitral award issued to a Bolivian investment firm following a dispute.

The move Wednesday by Grupo Cementos de Chihuahua SAB de CV and subsidiary GCC Latinoamérica SA de CV comes after Senior U.S. District Judge John L. Kane rejected arguments that the award was unenforceable due to annulment proceedings in Bolivia.
