Amkor To Pay Tessera $155M To Settle Chip Patent Suit

Law360, Los Angeles (January 15, 2015, 8:33 PM EST) -- Amkor Technology Inc. will pay $155 million to Tessera Inc. to settle pending litigation and arbitration proceedings — including matters in California and international arbitration court — over the license for a Tessera patent related to semiconductor chips, the parties said Thursday.

Under the terms of the deal, Amkor will pay the $155 million sum to Tessera Technologies Inc. subsidiary Tessera Inc. in 16 equal quarterly installments from the first quarter of 2015 until the fourth quarter of 2018, according to Tessera.
