US-Qatar $12B Arms Deal Advances Amid Political Turmoil

Law360, Washington (June 15, 2017, 6:58 PM EDT) -- The U.S. and Qatar on Wednesday signed a letter of agreement for a $12 billion arms deal that will send Boeing F-15 fighter jets to the small energy-rich nation.

The agreement comes amid a diplomatic crisis in which the Middle Eastern nation’s neighbors led by Saudi Arabia have cut off diplomatic ties and enacted an effective blockade of Qatar, accusing the country of funding terrorist groups.
