AT&T Settles Texas Suit Over Internet Filtering Patent

Law360 (April 9, 2018, 4:20 PM EDT) -- AT&T Corp. is finalizing settlement negotiations with an education technology company that accused the telecom giant's web security services of infringing a once-invalidated patent for filtering internet content, the parties told a Texas federal judge Friday.

According to a motion to stay, AT&T reached a settlement agreement "in principle" during a mediation with Bascom Global Internet Services Inc. and the parties are now working to finalize the agreement, they told the court. The parties had begun settlement talks before the April 4 mediation, where they continued their negotiations and reached an agreement, they told the court.
