Google Gets PTAB To Review 3 Messaging, Media Patents

Law360 (March 10, 2020, 3:30 PM EDT) -- Google has persuaded the Patent Trial and Appeal Board to review the claims of an instant messaging technology patent, along with two media patents that its YouTube video playback features allegedly infringe.

The PTAB on Monday instituted review of the two media patents owned by Virentem Ventures LLC — which operates as Enounce — and the one messaging patent owned by Zipit Wireless Inc. LG Electronics Inc. and LG Electronics USA Inc. are helping Google challenge the Zipit patent.
