NBC Beats Another 'Biggest Loser' Appeal In 2nd Circ.

By Jonathan Randles (January 9, 2013, 5:26 PM EST) -- NBC Universal Inc. has once more bested allegations it stole a woman's idea for its TV show "The Biggest Loser," as the Second Circuit again refused to reopen the lawsuit Wednesday, saying new evidence the woman sought to introduce wouldn't alter the outcome of the copyright infringement case.

The appeals court affirmed for a second time a New York federal court's dismissal of Sonya Latimore's suit accusing the network and producers Reveille LLC of stealing her pitch to create the weight-loss competition.
