Afilias Seeks $10M Jury Award Over Web Software IP Theft

Law360, Washington (August 24, 2015, 8:10 PM EDT) -- Afilias PLC called on a Virginia federal jury Monday to grant it $10 million for Architelos Inc.'s theft of an automated Internet anti-abuse tool, maintaining Afilias employees stole plans for the technology when they jumped ship for the rival outfit.

Afilias, which manages the .info domain, said it had spent years planning to develop an internal automated tool to weed out abuses, such as phishing, by taking down sites as they were reported.
