Facebook Wants Data Center Trade Secrets Suit Tossed
Law360, Los Angeles (May 10, 2016, 5:11 PM EDT) -- Facebook aimed for a third-round knockout Monday of the bulk of a California trade secrets suit alleging the social media giant copied the design it uses for the construction of data centers, saying one of the companies suing it doesn’t even own the secrets.
BladeRoom Group Ltd. admitted in its second amended complaint that it only has permission from co-plaintiff Bripco UK Ltd. to use the methodology for the data centers, Facebook Inc. said in a redacted motion to dismiss. That means BladeRoom doesn’t have standing to bring a suit under the California Uniform Trade Secrets Act, Facebook said.
