Water Treatment Co.’s $12.5M IP Award Too High, Judge Says

Law360, Los Angeles (July 14, 2017, 5:33 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge on Thursday rejected plant nursery company Houweling’s bid to escape a jury’s finding it intentionally infringed water treatment company CH2O’s irrigation-related patent, but said the jury’s $12.5 million award appears to have been excessive.

U.S. District Judge John Kronstadt issued six minute orders addressing a host of post-trial motions made by both sides in the dispute, which saw a jury find water treatment co.
