3 Houston Attys Get Deepwater Horizon Barratry Case Tossed

Law360 (June 4, 2019, 11:02 PM EDT) -- Three Houston attorneys who have been fighting claims that they violated ethics rules in soliciting clients to represent in litigation stemming from the Deepwater Horizon disaster got the case dismissed this week in Harris County district court in Texas.

Solo practitioner Michael A. Pohl, Cyndi Rusnak of Williamson & Rusnak and the estate of now-deceased attorney Jimmy Williamson have been fighting since June 2017 to ditch the claims of barratry — the illegal solicitation of clients.
