Ex-Judge Rebuked For Intoxicated Punch Of Atty On Sidewalk
By Pete Brush (February 17, 2021, 5:04 PM EST) -- A former probation judge received an official censure Tuesday in a New York disciplinary proceeding that stemmed from his decision while intoxicated to deck a defense lawyer outside of a party in Manhattan's Flatiron District.
The public rebuke closes a grievance proceeding against attorney Robert V. Beltrani, formerly an administrative law judge tasked with adjudicating parole violations, who was criminally charged in 2016 and later fired from judging after punching Legal Aid counsel Sam Roberts.
