Imprisoned Ex-White House Atty Michael Farren Disbarred

By Pete Brush (July 2, 2015, 3:26 PM EDT) -- The D.C. Court of Appeals has disbarred J. Michael Farren, a former attorney in the two Bush administrations who was sentenced in September to 15 years in Connecticut state prison for trying to murder his wife.

The three-judge panel's June 25 opinion accepted the December recommendation from its Board on Professional Responsibility. Farren, who is said to be appealing his criminal sentence on his own, did not respond to the disbarment recommendation.

"Mr. Farren's crime of attempted murder is also one of moral turpitude per se and, as a result, one that requires disbarment," the court said.
