EMS, Allgon Settle Patent Suit, Sign Cross-Licensing Pact

By Marius Meland (October 22, 2003, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Wireless antenna maker EMS Technologies Inc. of Atlanta agreed to drop its 10-month-old patent infringement lawsuit against Swedish telecom equipment maker Allgon AB, the Daily Deal reported.

EMS said it would grant Allgon a nonexclusive license to manufacture and market the wireless antenna technology. EMS, in turn, will have the right to integrate Allgon's products with its own.

Additional terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

In a lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, EMS had alleged that Allgon violated two patents in the manufacture of wireless base-station antennas used in mobile phone services...
