Vitamin Shoppe Supplement Not Organic, Suit Says

Law360, Los Angeles (January 7, 2015, 6:53 PM EST) -- Vitamin Shoppe Inc. was hit Wednesday with a suit in California federal court brought by a putative class of consumers who say the company deceived them by listing only the organic ingredients in a supplement and leaving out the cheaper, nonorganic component that makes up most of the product.

The plaintiffs, led by Rebecca Scheuerman, say the label on the company's Reservie Trans-Resveratrol supplement touts its French grape seed extract and Organic Muscadine Grape and Seed ingredients, even though the supplement contains far less of these ingredients than the label leads consumers to believe, according to the suit.
