By Diana Novak Jones (October 30, 2019, 7:05 PM EDT) -- The first few class actions against CBD companies have popped up in federal courts in recent weeks, marking the beginning of what attorneys say will be a wave of consumer litigation against cannabis businesses.
Unlike marijuana, hemp-derived CBD is federally legal — and the CBD industry is in a phase of unfettered and explosive growth. But without concrete federal standards for these products, companies that aren't careful could be next up for a lawsuit, cannabis attorneys said.
