Trump Accused By Writers' Group Of Free Speech Violations
Law360 (October 16, 2018, 7:06 PM EDT) -- A literary organization filed a lawsuit in Manhattan federal court on Tuesday accusing President Donald Trump of violating the First Amendment by using the regulatory and enforcement powers of the federal government to punish journalists and media outlets.
PEN American Center Inc., a group that represents writers and literary professionals, said Trump has used "retaliatory directives" and "credible public threats" to stifle the speech of those who criticize him.
