GOP Sen. Says He May Allow FCC Nominee Vote Soon

Law360 (December 12, 2018, 7:27 PM EST) -- The hurdle blocking the confirmation of two Federal Communications Commission nominees could be removed by the end of the year.

“That’s the goal,” Sen. Dan Sullivan, R-Alaska, who has placed a hold that has halted the nominations, told Law360 on Wednesday.

Sullivan said that the vote to increase support through the Connect America Fund subsidy pool may help convince him to remove his hold on the confirmations that would give Republican Brendan Carr a second term on the commission and Democrat Geoffrey Starks an open seat.
