Netflix Hit With Another Copyright Suit Over 'Fyre' Videos

By Tiffany Hu (August 19, 2019, 5:47 PM EDT) -- A New York attorney labeled a "copyright troll" by a federal judge has filed another infringement suit against Netflix over videos used in a documentary about the failed Fyre Festival, shortly after settling a similar case.

In a complaint filed Monday by Richard Liebowitz, Nicole Pinedo claimed that Netflix used three of her copyrighted videos in its "Fyre" documentary, which detailed the events surrounding the spectacularly failed 2017 music festival.

The new case over "Fyre" is the second from Liebowitz, a New York lawyer who has filed hundreds of copyright cases in recent years. In June, he reached a private settlement...
