Apple Escapes Trademark Suit Over 'iBooks' Mark

Law360, Los Angeles (May 8, 2013, 9:31 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge on Wednesday granted judgment to Apple Inc. in a trademark suit brought by J.T. Colby & Co. Inc. and two related publishing companies who targeted Apple’s use of the “iBooks” mark, saying their similar “ibooks” mark isn’t entitled to trademark protection.
