Film Investor’s Fight With Aramid Over $3M Deal On Thin Ice

Law360, Los Angeles (May 10, 2013, 6:00 PM EDT) -- A California judge on Friday tentatively tossed film investor David Bergstein's lawsuit claiming Aramid Entertainment Fund Ltd. breached their $3 million settlement of a loan dispute, saying the suit's claims are preempted by the filing of involuntary bankruptcies of five of Bergstein's companies.

At a hearing, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Michelle R. Rosenblatt took the matter under submission, but indicated she was inclined to grant Aramid's motion to dismiss the lawsuit, both on the federal bankruptcy law preemption grounds and based on California's law...
