High Court Urged To Review Marvel Copyright Row

Law360, New York (April 2, 2014, 6:39 PM EDT) -- Heirs of the legendary artist Jack Kirby has taken their fight with Marvel Comics Worldwide Inc. to the U.S. Supreme Court, asking the justices to find that Marvel doesn't own the copyrights to several lucrative comic book franchises.

In a petition filed March 21, Jack Kirby's children urged the high court to reverse a Second Circuit finding that Marvel owns the rights to franchises created by the renowned comic book artist, such as "The X-Men," "The Incredible Hulk" and "The Fantastic Four."
