2 Firms Guide Casey's $580M Deal For Gas Station Chain

By McCord Pagan (November 9, 2020, 3:22 PM EST) -- Midwest convenience store group Casey's said Monday it will buy fellow gas station chain Bucky's and its fuel distributor owner Buchanan Energy in a deal worth $580 million that was guided by Husch Blackwell LLP and McGrath North Mullin & Kratz PC.

Ankeny, Iowa-based Casey's General Stores Inc. said in a joint statement with Buchanan Energy that the deal for the fuel distributor and Bucky's Convenience Stores includes more than 90 stores, nearly 80 dealer locations and $80 million in tax benefits for an after-tax purchase price of $500 million.
